Warren B. Kanders
Warren B. Kanders, our executive chairman, has served as one of our directors since June 2002 and as executive chairman of our board of directors since December 2002. Since 1990, he has served as the president of Kanders & Company, Inc., a private investment firm he principally owns and controls, that makes investments in and provides consulting services to public and private entities. From January 1996 until its sale to BAE Systems plc on July 31, 2007, Mr. Kanders served as the chairman of the board of directors, and as the CEO from April 2003, of Armor Holdings, Inc., formerly a New York Stock Exchange-listed company and a manufacturer and supplier of military vehicles, armored vehicles, and safety and survivability products and systems to the aerospace and defense, public safety, homeland security and commercial markets. Since 2012, Mr. Kanders has served as the chairman of the board of directors and as the CEO of Maui Acquisition Corp., the principal equity owner of Safariland, LLC, a manufacturer and supplier of safety and survivability products to the public safety, homeland security and commercial markets.
Mr. Kanders graduated with an A.B. degree in Economics from Brown University. He also serves on the board of trustees of the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Winston Churchill Foundation and the Hospital for Special Surgery, and is a member of the Advisory Council of The Institute at Brown for Environment and Society. Mr. Kanders also was a former trustee of the Choate Rosemary Hall School.
John C. Walbrecht
John C. Walbrecht has served as the president of the Company’s Outdoor Group since October 2017, and president of Black Diamond Equipment since October 2016. Before joining the Company, Mr. Walbrecht served as the president of Mountain Hardwear from March 2016 to October 2016. Prior to Mountain Hardwear, he served as the president and CEO of Fenix Outdoors NA from January 2012 until March 2016. Mr. Walbrecht has also served in various senior roles with Brandbase, Spyder, Dr. Martens/Airwair, and Timberland. Mr. Walbrecht holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Brigham Young University, a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing from the University of Maryland and understudies in International Trade and Finance at Cambridge University - Trinity College.
Aaron J. Kuehne
Chief Administrative Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Secretary and Treasurer
Aaron J. Kuehne has served as our Chief Administrative Officer since July 2017 and our CFO, secretary and treasurer since March 2013, and has been with the Company since September 2010. Before joining the Company in September 2010, Mr. Kuehne served as the corporate controller of Certiport from August 2009 to September 2010. From July 2004 to August 2009, Mr. Kuehne served in various capacities with KPMG LLP, most recently as audit manager. Mr. Kuehne graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from University of Utah - David Eccles School of Business in 2002 and with a M.B.A. degree from University of Utah - David Eccles School of Business in 2004. He has also been a Certified Public Accountant since 2005.
General Manager, Sports Division
Most recently, West served as VP of marketing and e-commerce for KT Tape, which provides kinesiology tape and recovery products for pain management and injury-related treatments. While there, he led several strategic pivots across the company’s digital media channels, resulting in significant sales growth from the company’s e-commerce site and Amazon presence.
Prior to KT Tape, West was VP of marketing for Kodiak Cakes, a premium brand of breakfast foods that contain high-quality ingredients. While there, he oversaw the company’s marketing strategy across all channels, along with leading product development. He also previously served in several senior marketing roles for various brands at General Mills.
West holds an MBA with an emphasis in marketing from Duke University and a BA in economics from Harvard University.
