Black Diamond Equipment, POC and PIEPS Net Global Show Awards at Outdoor Retailer, ISPO and SIA

At the Outdoor Retailer Winter Market, held in Salt Lake City, Utah January 22-25, JetForce, the first avalanche airbag system to use electronically controlled jet-fan inflation, was awarded "Gear of the Show" by Outside magazine, Men's Journal, GearJunkie.com and GearInstitute.com. JetForce technology represents Black Diamond's commitment to the snow safety category and will be available in specific backpacks from Black Diamond, PIEPS and POC in fall 2014.

At ISPO Munich 2014, which took place January 26-29 and is Europe's largest tradeshow for the active lifestyle market, Black Diamond, PIEPS, POC and Fritchi Diamir collected six ISPO awards in the ski, outdoor and accessories categories. Of these six awards, Black Diamond received two ISPO Gold Awards, one for its Jetforce technology in advanced avalanche gear and one for its Cohaesive Embedded Components, which can be found exclusively in the apparel line for 2014. At the Snowsports Industry America (SIA) show, held in Denver, Colorado January 30 to February 2, Outside magazine awarded POC with "Gear of the Show" for its Skull Orbic Comp H.I. MIPS helmet and Fritschi Diamir's VIPEC 12 tech ski binding. Skiing Magazine also awarded both the VIPEC 12 and JetForce Technology with its "Hot Gear" award.

Black Diamond Equipment's fall 2014 collection will begin to arrive at specialty retail in late summer 2014.
